Over time, our skin type may change due to age, season, climate, diet & other lifestyle factors. In Winter for example, most people experience some degree of Vata imbalance due to a cold, wet & windy climate.

Some people can also experience a dual dosha skin type, the qualities of two doshas showing up clearly in the skin. For example, someone with extremely thick, smooth & lustrous, alabaster skin, with a radiant, rosy cheek could be considered a Pitta/Kapha skin type.

Once aware of our dosha, caring for the skin becomes intuitive, empowering us to select products & ingredients to maintain, balance & support our individual skin type. ⠀

*For those of you familiar with Ayurveda – note that your body type or leading dosha/s may not reflect your skin’s present condition or current concern.

Ayurvedic Face Mapping

Face mapping is a theory that relates the location of a breakout or skin concerns with a corresponding internal organ or issue within the body. The diagrams below show face mapping based on Ayurvedic principles.  Refer to each dosha specific face map for an indication of where imbalances are likely to occur for each skin type.

VATA FACE MAP

VATA FACE MAP

Vata is indicated in the skin via signs of dryness, premature ageing & lines on the forehead, around the eyes/lips and lower cheeks (next to the mouth). The mapped areas below indicate where the lines or dryness will show up if you have a Vata imbalance or skin that would benefit from our Vata range of products. A mixture of Vata products for the face and body + our Tridoshic Ageless Beauty Kit will benefit you most at this time.

PITTA FACE MAP

PITTA FACE MAP

Pitta is indicated in the skin via signs of heat, warmth and a slightly oily quality in the t-zone. Pitta skin is prone to redness, acne, rosacea and frequent breakouts. The mapped areas below indicate where Pitta imbalances occur. If you have sensitive skin with slight oiliness throughout the T-zone skin and/or rosy cheeks, a mixture of our Pitta face and body products + Tridoshic Rasa Aloe Serum will benefit you most at this time.

KAPHA FACE MAP

KAPHA FACE MAP

Kapha is indicated in the skin via signs of oiliness, blackheads, congestion & general stagnation around the outer perimeter of the face. The mapped areas below indicate where the breakouts will show up if you have a kapha imbalance or skin that would benefit from our Kapha range of products. A mixture of our Kapha products for the face and body + our Tridoshic Rasa Aloe Serum & Cleansing Compress Drops will benefit you most at this time.

Ayurveda prescribes that to correct an imbalance in any of the doshas, one need only apply the opposite of that doshas quality. Pitta – fire & water, requires cooling & calming skincare; Vata – space & air  becomes cold & dry & therefore needs warming moisture rich skincare; & finally Kapha – earth & water, can become damp and heavy & therefore benefits from light, warm & astringent skincare to maintain balance.
